I could say so much about this but nothing that hasn't already been said by others far more knowledgeable than I. What I want to say, though, is that another glimmer of hope I carried for the long-term redemption of the human race died today and, once more, I find myself wishing I were anything but human...

An 18 year old A-level student with ambitions to become a lawyer, devout Christian, keen sportsman and church youth leader was subjected to a torrent of racial abuse before an axe was embedded in his skull in an unprovoked attack on Friday 29th July. Why?
